Culture of Safety and Quality

 Safety and quality thrive in an environment that supports teamwork and respect for other people; regardless of their position in the hospital.  Behavior that intimidates others and affects morale or staff turnover undermines a culture of safety and can be harmful to patient care. A culture of safety’s focus is on the performance of systems and processes instead of individuals.  However, reckless behavior and disregard for safety by an individual are not tolerated.
