Order Entry – 2019 R1

Overview:

This manual is the primary reference for the MEDHOST Order Entry system. The purpose of this manual is to introduce the system to the new user and to provide sufficient detail that as readers progress through the menus, they gain a full understanding of the system. A menu can be easily accessed by typing GO ‘menu name’. For example, to go directly to the Dietary Menu, from any menu type GO DIET.

The Order Entry system is designed to efficiently capture patient care activity relating to treatment by the knowledgeable personnel providing that treatment. Workstations can be located in nursing stations, ancillary departments, emergency rooms, business offices, and other key hospital departments. The system provides invaluable, up-to-the-minute comprehensive information on patient care and progress. This information enhances timely treatment and case planning as well as dramatically reduces duplicated and/or lost charges.
